Privacy

No analytics. No tracking. No SDKs.

Mural Quest is built so that the only person who knows you opened it is you. This page explains exactly what data the app touches and what it does with it.

In short
01 · Who we are

Mural Quest is made by Pelican Digital LLC.

Pelican Digital LLC is a small Florida company. The app is built and maintained by one person. Contact: hello@muralquest.app.

We are not affiliated with the SHINE Mural Festival or the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance.

02 · Information we collect

None.

We have no servers that store user data. We do not have a user account system. We do not log opens, sessions, taps, time-in-app, or any other behavior. We do not have an analytics provider. We do not have an advertising network. We do not embed any third-party software development kits beyond the Apple frameworks the app needs to run on your iPhone.

If you uninstall the app, there is nothing left of you on our side — because there was nothing there to begin with.

03 · Location

Your location is read by your iPhone and used inside the app.

If you allow location access, the app uses iOS’s Core Location to:

Location is never transmitted off the device. We have no servers to receive it. You can deny location access entirely — the app still works, you’ll just need to use the address and pan the map by hand.

You can review or revoke location permission at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services › Mural Quest.

04 · Map tiles

The base map is loaded from CARTO and OpenStreetMap.

The streets, buildings, and trail lines you see under the mural pins are map tiles served by CARTO, drawn from OpenStreetMap data.

Loading a map tile is a normal HTTP request. CARTO sees the request — which means they see your IP address and which tiles you asked for. We have no relationship with CARTO that gives us access to that information. Their privacy policy is at carto.com/privacy.

Tiles you’ve already loaded are cached on your phone, so a neighborhood you walked yesterday will load offline today.

05 · Subscriptions and payments

Apple handles every transaction.

The Mural Quest subscription is sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. Apple processes payment, stores billing details, and manages renewals. We do not see your card, your address, or your Apple ID.

What we do receive from Apple is a server-side receipt that confirms a valid subscription exists. The receipt does not contain personal information.

Refunds are requested through reportaproblem.apple.com. Cancel at any time in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions.

06 · Email

If you write to us, we keep your email until we’ve answered.

If you send a message to hello@muralquest.app or support@muralquest.app, we receive your email address along with whatever you wrote. We use it to reply to you and nothing else.

We do not run an email marketing list. We will not put you on one.

07 · Children

Rated 4+. No data collection regardless of age.

Mural Quest carries a 4+ age rating on the App Store, meaning it’s suitable for all ages. Because we collect no personal information from any user, we collect none from children either — we are compliant with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by virtue of having no data to mishandle.

08 · Changes to this policy

If this changes, we’ll say so.

If the way the app handles data ever changes — for example, if we add a feature that requires a server — we will update this page and note the date below. We will not start collecting data quietly.
